Nigella Lawson can do no wrong in my books, there is nothing she makes I will not try. At least once.
With Christmas here and lots of decadent truffles and souffles I’ve love to make, a dessert that’s as quick to make as it is to eat is right up my ally. Think soft chewy brownies with sweet juicy pears. Mmm!
Choco Pear Heaven*
1 large tin of pears (halved)
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/3 cocoa (honestly, I eyeballed this part)
4-5 tbsp of margarine (softened makes it easier)
1 tsp vanilla
– Preheat oven to 425 F
– grease an ovensafe deep dish and arrange pears flat sides down
– mix the flour, sugar and cocoa together
– add margarine, eggs and vanilla to the dry mixture. Mix until well combined
– spoon batter over pears and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top looks set like a brownie
So quick and easy with ingredients you most likely have around, and my favorite part, only one mixing bowl to clean!
